I am a director, actor, writer and assistant professor of theatre at Hamilton College. In my previous position at St. Olaf College, I also taught in several interdisciplinary programs and, as the Oral Communication Director there, created the Speaking Space for peer tutoring at St. Olaf. As a director, I like to explore different methods of creating work, whether working from a script or devising with cast members. While I have been concentrating, since 2006, on both directing and teaching, I worked as an actor in New York City and had graduated from the American Repertory Theatre's Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University in 1992. I received both my M.A. and Ph.D. in Dramatic Theory and History from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College.
